Pudge is not really among the heroes that have such a big impact during the late game. Sure, he can hook and ult someone, but that's pretty much it. However, that's not the case whenever the team is running him as a core. Believe it or not, there are still some players who tend to pick Pudge as their core, and sometimes, it's a good idea to do it.
Having said that, let's take a look a some of the best heroes that you can get versus Pudge during the late game.
The first hero on this list is the biggest counter that Pudge has ever since the days of DotA. Lifestealer has the advantage of doing absolutely retarded amounts of damage to the enemy heroes that have a lot of Strength. Needless to say, Pudge is one of the heroes with the highest strength and strength gain in the game. As a result, he can reach up to 5000+ HP sometimes, which is exactly what Lifestealer wants in order to do even more damage.
Even though Pudge counters TA during the laning stage, once that is over, Templar Assassin can absolutely rip through him, thanks to her broken damage. Even though Pudge has a lot of health points, he is usually really low on armor. This is great news for TA, who is a natural Desolator builder and takes advantage of the lack of armor.
The last hero on this list might be a bit strange to some of you but Timbersaw is also an extremely useful and hard hero to deal with as any strength Dota 2 hero. Similar to Naix, he absolutely obliterates the strength heroes but instead of doing physical damage, he does only pure damage. As a result, he can quickly kill Pudge, even if he has loads of HP.
