Dota 2 Ranked Roles update released ⚡⚡⚡ Esports news, analytics, reviews on WePlay! The latest news on WePlay!

Yesterday Valve released a new update that incl udes a change to the ranking system, which replaces “the Core/Support separation with a single rank that uses handicaps for each of the five ranked roles, representing your relative strength playing each position.”

The change will aid the matchmaker in taking a better account of differences in player performance levels between various roles. As a result, winning or losing games will only modify a single rank, and queuing for your best roles will consider your full MMR. However, queuing weaker roles will place players in matches at a lower MMR.

During each game, the adjusted badge levels used to matchmake players will now be displayed. Core/Support MMR values and an analysis of the last 100 games will determine a player’s initial levels for each role.

Match results will still affect your MMR as normal, and players will be able to track their current role adjustments in the Role Queue menu.
