Introduction
Shadow Fiend and Storm Spirit are two of the most popular mid laners in Dota 2. Even though both of those heroes haven't been the meta picks recently, there are still many players who love to pick them, especially in pub games. That's why you can often see these two heroes against each other, which is why we decided to cover the strengths and weaknesses of each of them and see which one is the batter laner. Let's dive in.
Advantages and Disadvantages of Shadow Fiend
The main strength of SF in this matchup is his Shadowrazes. He has to try and use them all the time, especially once he hits level 3. Storm is pretty tanky against physical damage, but he is weak against spell damage, especially early on. As a result, Shadow Fiend can easily bully him out of the lane with just two razes.
Another advantage of this hero is the fact that he deals a lot of physical damage once he gets enough souls. Also, he has a petty fast attack speed, which is why he can easily out farm his enemy.
On the contrary, SF's biggest weakness is the fact that he is very squishy. Unfortunately, this is something that you just have to deal with.
Advantages and Disadvantages of Storm Spirit
Storm's biggest strength in this match is the fact that he is very strong in the first couple of levels. This means that he has to do everything in his power to try and stop SF from reaching level 3. This can easily be done by constant harassment with Overload. However, you have to very careful not to overextend because SF can easily nuke you down with his races. In fact, that's probably Storm's biggest disadvantage here - he is very squishy and can die relatively easily from just two razes.
Final Verdict
If both the SF and Storm player are equally good, we can safely say that SF has an advantage during the landing stage. He just deals too much damage for Storm to farm properly. However, once Reijin gets to level 6, things can quickly change.
