Dota 2 is an amazing game full of surprises. Apart from the many heroes and items to choose from, this legendary MOBA also has many mechanics that you need to learn in order to be successful. Some of them are pretty easy to comprehend, whereas others - not so much. With that said, let's take a look at what is Evasion and how it works.
Necessary information about this Mechanic
As the name clearly suggests, Evasion is a Dota 2 mechanic that allows you to dodge an attack from the enemies. In other words, this attack that will otherwise inflict damage on you will be completely useless. Needless to say, stacking Evasion can be incredibly durable, especially when you are facing influential physical damage dealers.
Apart from Evasion, there are a couple of other ways in which you can dodge an attack. For example, if your hero has an ability that blinds the enemies, this means that they will miss their next couple of attacks.
When your attack gets under the Evasion effect, you will see a red text that will appear saying "miss." On the other hand, if you are the one who is "dodging the bullet," you will see the white text "evade," which means that you successfully nullified the attack.
Items that offer Evasion
As we mentioned earlier, stacking evasion is one of the best ways to ensure that you will stay alive against the deadly attacks of the enemy carry. Apart from the natural evasion that occurs when you are on the high ground, two very strong items also provide these stats:
- Butterfly is, without a doubt, the most durable item that provides evasion. Even though it might seem too expensive for some players, this is the best all-around item for every single carry in Dota 2.
- Heaven's Halberd is definitely not the most popular items, but it can be a fantastic way to deal with a couple of very annoying heroes. Apart from evasion, this item also offers an active disarm, which can be a life-saver in many situations. Of course, let's also not forget about the raw HP that it gives.
