Dota 2 has many items which all serve some purpose in this awesome game. However, deciding which one to get in certain situations is very hard but it can mean all the difference in the world. We've already covered some of the most important items and today, we will continue yet again but this time, we will focus on an item that everyone purchases - boots.
Also, it is very helpful to watch the live games of professional teams like at the Kyiv Dota 2 Major, to understand for yourself how to use one or another item depending on each situation.
There are five different types of boots to choose from, so choosing the correct one is pretty hard. However, when it comes down to supports, that choice is definitely easier because 90% of them go for either Arcane Boots or Tranquil, depending on the game.
Sadly, that's not the same for core players because both Power Treads and Phase Boots are very good.
Having said that, let's take a look at the main differences between these two items so that you can make the right choice for you.
Power Treads vs Phase Boots
Before we dive in, it's important to clear something out - both of these items are awesome. However, there are just situations where one is better than the other. It mainly comes down to whether you need that extra HP or not. Even though it might not seem as much, sometimes this can be a life saver, especially when you're playing against enemies that have tons of burst damage.
On the other hand, a well-timed Phase Boots can mean all the difference in the world in some situations. For example, that extra movement speed and damage can win you the lane if you're playing against a hero that you can easilly kill.
Genereally speaking, Phase Boots is the more offensivei tems out of the two. This means that it works great on heroes who have to play aggressively such as Slark, Huskar, etc. On the contrary, Power Treads is more of a safer choice because it gives HP and more stats. What's more, you can also toggle it all the time, which gives you the power to have more mana when you need it.
At the end of the day, it all comes down to personal preferences. However, we personally prefer Power Treads mainly due to the ability to have more mana or HP, depending on the case.
