Dota 2 - How to Support with Sniper?

Introduction

Dota 2 is one of the most interesting MOBA games due to the fact that you can see a certain hero in pretty much any position. One of the heroes that can often be spotted outside his comfort zone is Sniper. Even though this is one of the squishiest heroes in the game, a series of updates allowed him to transition into legit support in some situations. Of course, he is nowhere as good as other heroes that are known for being good supports but it's still a decent choice.

Having said that, here are a few things that you need to keep in mind so that you can support properly with this hero.

Always max your Shrapnel

This is the ability that makes Sniper such a deadly foe in the laning stage. Even though IceFrog nerfed this ability numerous times in the last couple of patches, it's still super strong during the laning stage because you can completely zone out an enemy, especially if he is melee. That's what you should always try to position this ability in a way that will allow you to do damage. However, don't forget that you have three charges, after which you have to wait a bit.

Buy an Aghanim's Scepter

Let's face it, Sniper is a right-clicking monster. However, when you're put in a support role, you just don't have the space to farm the items you need, which is why you have to think outside the box. This is where Sniper's Aghanin's Scepter upgrade comes to play. It allows the hero to stun his enemies and do even more damage to them with his ult, which makes him really useful.

Try not to feed

As easy as this sounds, this is actually the hardest thing to achieve because there are so many ways in which you can die. Unfortunately, Sniper is not among the hardiest heroes in Dota 2, which makes him really vulnerable to attacks.
