Dota 2 - How to deal with Storm Spirit

Introduction

Dota 2 is a game where you can choose between 130+ heroes, each of whom is different in its own way. Some of them are only good in the offense, whereas others - on the defense. Having said that, there are certain heroes that have the potential to snowball out of control, given the circumstances. That’s why it is very important to know how to deal with them so that you don’t end up losing the game. 

Today, the hero that we will take a look at is Storm Spirit. While it’s true that he has a very high skill cap, once you master him, gaining MMR will be like a walk in the park. 

Let’s take a look at few things that you need to do to prevent Storm form overtaking the game.

Picking the proper hero

Although this might seem obvious, we can’t emphasize it enough. Your hero choice is the most important aspect to prevent Strom Spirit from winning. Unless your roster has some sort of control, he will be able to thrive. There are many good heroes against Storm such as Anti-Mage, DooM, Skywarath, and more. In general, try to have as many disables as possible and you will make his life very hard.

Get items that stun or silence 

Once you pick the hero, your next job is to buy the proper items. This includes both offensive and defensive items to help you deal with Storm Spirit. In terms of defensives, it all comes down to the position you have in the game. If you’re a support, the best item to get is a Glimmer’s Cape. Unless you get instantly killed from the Ball Lightning, you should be able to survive. On the other hand, as a core, the best item defensive item vs Storm is BKB. Hurrican pike can also to the job but it’s very situational. 

As for offensive items, an Orchid Malevolence, Abyssal Blade and a Scythe of Vyse are among the strongest item versus this hero. As we mentioned numerous times, every single item that disables will do the job right. 

Don’t go alone 

One of the Storm’s biggest strengths is the fact that the hero can score solo kills. That’s why you have to do everything in your power to prevent that. In other words, always try to stay close to your team, and keep a close eye on your position.
