Devil May Cry becomes a board game ⚡⚡⚡ Esports and gaming news, analytics, reviews on WePlay! The latest news on WePlay!

It’s rather hard to imagine that Devil May Cry, with its dynamic action and constant movement, might one day turn into a meditative board game. But here we are, and the respective adaptation of the slasher franchise is coming to Kickstarter later this spring. Unfortunately, we don’t know much for the time being.

The board game variation of the famous franchise is called Devil May Cry: The Bloody Palace, and it’s being created under the courtesy of Steamforged Games. As the title implies, the project will focus solely on the representation of the Bloody Palace mode from the video games. It’s going to be a competitive experience with players trying to earn more points than their opponents. The breathtaking action sequences will obviously be absent from the official board game, but the much-needed signature atmosphere of never-ending battles will be somehow replicated via various cards. Interestingly, Devil May Cry: The Bloody Palace will allow choosing between not only Dante, Nero, or V – but also Trish. Finally, the fourth official playable character.

It is worth noting what Steamforged Games has already successfully adapted several huge video game franchises into board games, such as Horizon Zero Dawn, Resident Evil 2, and Dark Souls. In other words, we have true professionals involved, which means that the end result is likely to turn out great.
