Devil May Cry 5 will be shown as playable demo at this year’s Gamescom. As the lead designer Hideaki Itsuno said in his Twitter:
“Demo version for gamescom2018 is completed! 10 days to the world's first playable!”
Devil May Cry 5 was revealed at E3 this year and will be a direct sequel to DMC 4. Nero and Dante will return as playable characters together with a hero who’s still unnamed.
As far as the story goes, Itsuno earlier explained that the story takes place several years after Devil May Cry 4 and that Nero has set up his own demon-hunting agency based out of a van adorned with a neon "Devil May Cry" sign given to him by Dante.
Interestingly enough, DMC 5 will be the first game in the series that will get 18+ rating so we might well expect some fairly-adult stuff (including violence, swearing and light sexual themes).
Devil May Cry 5 is planned for release in second quarter of 2019 for PC, Xbox One and PS4.
Gamescom 2018 begins the 21st of August and will be open to the public from the 22nd, so make sure to grab your tickets if there are still some.
