Introduction

Death Stranding is a game where one of your main objectives is to deliver a certain cargo from one place to another. During your journey, there will be many things that will try to prevent this from happening. Some of the deliveries are related to the main story, whereas others are optional. In both cases, it is possible that you either lose or drop the cargo while you're completing a mission. It is even possible to stumble across lost and/or dropped cargo from other players as well.

In the beginning, you will only see lost cargo from the different NPCs that you've talked to. However, when you progress enough, you will also start seeing dropped cargo from other players. Let's take a look and see why you should always pick the dropped cargo up and why is it good for you.

Dropped Cargo

The first type of cargo that you can come across in Death Stranding is the dropped one. You will know that it is a dropped cargo if it's highlighted in green and has the name of the player that dropped it. To be honest, the only difference between dropped or lost cargo is very minor. The lost cargo is basically a dropped one that went too far away from you to get back. On the other hand, a dropped cargo is when you drop it on purpose so that other players can benefit from it.

Most players will probably decide to drop their cargo if it takes too much space. However, if you don't want to lose it permanently, you can just put into a thing called private locker which is basically like a bank. By doing this, you will save the cargo for yourself and use it in the future when you need it.

If you find cargo dropped by others and you decide to get it to where it was supposed to go, you & the person that dropped it will earn bonus points. On the other hand, you can just use this cargo for yourself and benefit from it. However, it is important to remember that if you do that, the cargo won't be able to be returned to the original destination.

There is also a thing called shared locker where you can put the cargo that you've found. If someone really wants it back, he/she will definitely check it out.

Lost Cargo

The other type of cargo that you can come across is the lost cargo. You will be able to find a lot of it while doing your usually trips with your own cargo. Unlike the dropped cargo, the blue one will appear on the map in the same blue hexagons so it's easier to distinguish them. If you find it and decide to return it to the original owner, you will get a lot of likes which is important if you want to connect with the other players in the game.

In order to deliver the lost cargo, you need to go to the facility's terminal and then click on the "Make Delivery" option. After you do this, there will be another option called  "Deliver Lost Cargo". As we mentioned above, this will get you a lot of likes which are important here.

It all comes down to whether you feel like you should help others or not. If you don't feel like doing it, you can always benefit from the cargo yourself.
