The exact release date of Death Stranding is still being kept a secret, but at least we know that the process of development is close to the initial plan in terms of time spent. A few weeks ago, Hideo Kojima said that the game was just a little bit behind the schedule, and now he’s shared another update.
Kojima left a detailed post on Twitter regarding the current state of the game. Right now, Death Stranding is not a finished project yet and hasn’t entered a debugging stage either. However, the developers have started combining the scattered parts of the title together into a single seamless experience. This process is far from over, although Kojima claims to be enjoying a playable build of Death Stranding every day on PS4. This final remark regarding the specific console indicates that we’ll probably see the game on the current generation. Still, the possibility of a future release on the next gen is not excluded.
It is worth reminding that Sony is going to host a “State of Play” show tonight. The livestream starts at 10 PM CET, and we are likely to learn some additional information concerning Death Stranding. It’s hard to believe that we’ll get any update on the targeted release window, but the show itself is worth watching nonetheless.
