Similar to many modern games out there, you have two great options to choose from - you can either only do the main objectives, or you can also do the extra content. Needless to say, your choices are directly related to the time that you are going to spend to finish Death Stranding.

How long does it take to finish Death Stranding?

Like we mentioned above, it all comes down to how you want to play the game. If you are only interested in doing the "necessary" stuff from the main story, you will probably need around 50 hours to complete the game. On the other hand, if you take the "long" road, you will find that the game has a lot more to offer than you initially thought. For instance, you will be able to build valuable relationships with different NPCs, explore hidden places, and build special strictures that can help you and the other players in the game. 

Speaking of helping others, Death Stranding offers different ways in which you can do that. For instance, you can leave a ladder, build bridges, deliver cargos, and other cool things. Unfortunately, you won't be able to do any of this if you just do the main objectives in the game. 

If you are interested in finding out how the game ends, we would advise you to finish it in both ways. By doing this, you will be able to make the most out of your second run and do all the cool things that you can't do while completing just the main objectives in the game. 

However, if you are going to play with a friend, just do the "long ending" straight away as it will be literally pointless to just finish the game in a couple of hours without getting to experience anything.
