Death Stranding: Fast Travel - How to unlock fast travel and how it works

Introduction

Death Stranding is a game where you can do some pretty cool stuff. Apart from the "ordinary" things such as surviving the deadly encounters that will try to kill you all the time, some of the actions in the game are very interesting. For example, many people don't know, but you can actually fast travel in Death Standing in order to cover more ground more quickly. 

Even though it's not that easy to use, it is still the best way of transportation if you want to reach some regions that are far away from your current position. Unfortunately, this only works if you've already covered the area where you want to go.

How to unlock this feature in Death Stranding?

Before we begin, it is essential to know that Death Stranding is a special kind of ability that can't be used until you reach Episode 3. Sadly, you will have to play the entire Episode 2 without this ability, which is pretty sad because it is one of the most prolonged episodes.

Once you complete Order 18 (this is one of the shortest deliveries in the entire game), you will unlock the fast travel option. Of course, before this happens, there will be a special cutscene that you have to watch.

How does fast traveling actually work?

As we mentioned in the first paragraph, in order to use fast traveling, you need to have been to the place where you want to travel to. To make a long story short, you can go to any of the big UCA facilities that are located around the world. In addition, you can even go to Safe Houses, if you actually have any. In order to build them, you need to finish Episode 3 and have at least a level 2 PCC, which is pretty hard to get in the first place. However, once you have the needed tools, it is advisable to build your Safe House at a location where you will go very often.

Another thing to keep in mind is cargo. There are certain limits whenever you want to fast travel, so be sure not to have tons of cargo on you because you won't be able to bring it with you.

We definitely advise you to try out the fast travel option. Even though it seems like it's a bit of a hassle to go through, it's definitely worth it because you will save yourself a lot of time in the future.
