Introduction

Death Stranding is a fantastic game where you can have a very cool experience in the vast and open world that's available. There are many different things to do, which means that you can rarely get bored. However, if you want to make things just a bit more interesting for you, we advise you to switch the difficulty that you are currently playing in.

Speaking of the devil, there are four difficulties that you can choose from - Hard, Normal, Easy, and Very Easy. Although it seems like a pretty straightforward thing, sometimes it can be pretty hard to tell the changes that happen when you switch the difficulty. Let's dive in and see which difficult is the right for you and when is the best time to switch it up.

What's the difference between each difficulty in Death Stranding?

As we mentioned above, it might be pretty hard to see the difference between each difficulty in Death Stranding. Unlike other games, this one is a little bit more complex, which means that you really need to know what you're looking for.

Here are some of the things that you will notice right away when you change the difficulty. First, Sam tends to get way more unbalanced, which has a significant effect on your gameplay. The BTs will do more damage, they can detect you from miles away and will be a lot more prone to attack when you are close by. Besides, the BTs and the other Humanoid enemies that you come across have more HP, and they are significantly more aggressive.

In terms of the cargo, it will be destroyed way easier from any physical damage, and it will also take significantly more damage from Tiemefall. Of course, many other minor things can change, but these are the ones that you will notice right away.

Which difficult should you go for?

Even though it might be tempting to run the game in the most comfortable settings possible just to finish it, you will truly experience the deal Death Stranding once you choose the hard difficulty. There is only a lot more into it that makes the entire thing worthwhile.

Apart from the things about the cargo and Sam, when you choose Hard mode, your enemies will become a lot more "alive," which will make your situation very difficult. After all, they will have more health, better awareness, and more damage, which all adds up to the experience. On the other hand, if you choose the easiest difficulty, you won't even need weapons to fight against the MULEs. That said, when you want Hard, the MULEs will be more than happy to take you down as soon as they see you, which means that you need to be a lot more creative when you're approaching their camps.

Of course, sometimes the Hardest difficulty might be just a bit too hard for some of you. If that's the case, you can always go into the Main Menu and change the settings to something that will make your life easier. The cool thing is that you won't lose anything when you do this. However, if you've started a specific order on one difficulty, you will have to finish it on the same one because otherwise, it won't score.

Final Thoughts

Many people will argue that Death Stranding is a very easy game to play. While this can be true up to a point, many things make it a lot more complicated than others. However, it is true that once you progress enough, you will have so many resources that navigating around will seem like a walk in the park.

Of course, this doesn't mean that everything will be unicorns and rainbows. Sometimes, you will have to get out of some pretty grim situations, and unless you act fast, you won't be able to make it alive. That said, sometimes, it is pretty much impossible to avoid death, regardless of what difficulty you're currently on.

All in all, Death Stranding is a truly remarkable game that has a lot to offer, especially when you passed the first couple of chapters. However, every single obstacle on your way can be overcome, which means that there are no "impossible" things here. Just remember - always think outside the box so that you can resolve your issue.
