Death Stranding: Combat guide and tips

Death Stranding: Combat guide and tips ⚡⚡⚡ Esports and gaming news, analytics, reviews on WePlay! The latest news on WePlay!
Introduction
As we mentioned in one of our previous guides, fighting against BTs is a pretty hard thing to do. They have impressive damage and sensors, making them very hard to avoid. If you remember, we've discussed whether you should stay and fight or just start running away once you come across such a beast. In the end, it turns out that running might be the better option in most cases.
However, the Beached Things, as you know, are invisible, durable and will attack you instantly, so sometimes running might be easier said than done. That's why it is essential to understand how to fight correctly so that you don't become "pray" of those nasty things that want to kill you.
Let's take a look at some of the most basic ways how to deal with BTs once you have to fight for your life. Keep in mind that fighting against these creatures should be the last thing possible, so always try to avoid them first.
Detecting BTs
The first thing that you need to know is how to detect if a BT is near you. We've already covered this in our in-depth guide, so be sure to check it out if you want to have more in-depth knowledge. To make a long story short, you need to be on the lookout for TImefall, which is a thing that forces all your stuff to age at a faster rate.
When this happens, take a stroke of excellent luck at your Odradek because this is the item that will show if there are any nearby BTs that you should be aware of. It will start to blink very fast if there are any enemies closet to you, so you need to be quick if that happens.
How to properly fight against the Beached Things in Death Stranding
As we mentioned above, fighting against these creatures should be the last thing on your mind because they are pretty hard to deal with. However, if that's the only thing left to do, you need to have the best weapon possible even to stand a chance. For instance, the Hematic grenades are one of your best go-to options because they have the power to one-shot your enemies if you time them right. Apart from these grenades, there are other sharp weapons such as the special guns that you unlock once you end Chapter 3.
Whatever you do, remember one thing - always try to look for a way out before engaging in a fight.
