Dear NRS: Fans Get New Updates, But Not The One They Want

New MK11 updates isn't what the fans asked for
The hashtag #DearNRS trended on Twitter about 5-6 days ago. The hashtag was filled with NRS community members frustrated at the lack of innovation to Mortal Kombat 11. The sentiment of many was clear: the game is getting left behind by its contemporaries, and the lack of communication was just making things worse.
The pressure got so immense that it seemed that a response was inevitable. Ed Boon, the co-creator of Mortal Kombat tweeted a few new updates to the game, and everyone was excited... well until they realized that the updates were skin packs for Halloween.

To be fair, the new costumes are pretty dope as there is Sub-Zero in a skin reminiscent of the Night King from Game of Thrones, Johnny Cage as the Teen Wolf from the 80s, and D'Vorah depicted as a nightmarish nurse. However, this is certainly not the change that fans asked for.
While some fans were understandably excited for the new additions, many others still want more—much more.
The lack of new additions in Mortal Kombat is made even more painful by the fact that Nintendo has announced that there will be a new addition to Smash Ultimate with an announcement due later today.
The next #SmashBrosUltimate DLC fighter will be revealed tomorrow at 7am PT! The video presentation will be roughly 3 minutes long, followed by a brief message from Director Masahiro Sakurai. Tune-in here tomorrow: https://t.co/7RL5x0EEVI pic.twitter.com/Fqmw03axMv

It is pretty unfortunate, but it seems like things are going to stay just the same with Mortal Kombat for a while yet, and fans are going to be left without answers. Personally, I think the problem is more the lack of communication than the paucity of content.
