Mortal Kombat 11 might’ve felt rather comfortable in the charts being a fresh release and occupying the first place. However, the recently released Days Gone has pretty easily beaten the NetherRealm’s latest and taken over the first place during the previous week – although, in terms of physical boxed copies only for the UK market.
Days Gone had an impressive start, which led to Mortal Kombat 11 shifting to the second place. Unfortunately, there’s no word about specific numbers and the exact amount of copies sold, but we at least have some comparisons to work with. For instance, the performance of Mortal Kombat 11 was 43.6% worse than that of Mortal Kombat X, but it is once again worth mentioning that digital sales are not taken into consideration. The latest title from NetherRealm performed slightly better than Injustice 2, and this is likely due to the fact that Mortal Kombat is a much more well-established franchise.
As GamesIndustry notes, the physical sales of PS4 exclusive Days Gone are 27% lower for the launch week in comparison to God of War, which released a year ago during a similar period. It’s worth mentioning that Days Gone is an original new IP set in a rather boring zombie setting whereas last year’s God of War was a long-awaited sequel to the iconic series.
