Epic Games is about to acquire an additional pool of players for its brand-new store. A game called Dauntless, where players need to team up and destroy big monsters together is moving to Epic Store, converting the existing players to the Epic accounts.
Here is a message to the open beta players, who are using the Dauntless standalone launcher (patcher, as the game developers call it).
Leading up to launch, we will be converting all Dauntless accounts to Epic Games accounts. If you already have an Epic Games account, you’ll be able to merge your two accounts into one. All of your progress will carry over so you can seamlessly continue your adventure.
There is no set date for the migration of the accounts yet. It should happen somewhere around April when the game releases on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Some Dauntless players aren’t happy about the decision to move to Epic Store using what means they have to boycott the transition.
Epic Games is aspiring to make a dent in the Steam’s monopoly online PC game distribution. The company is planning to do it with a lower revenue share (12% versus Steam’s 30%) and exclusive content.

Valve called it unfair and caused an outrage in the gaming community since Metro Exodus had been lying in the forefront of Steam for a couple of months, gathering up the momentum.
The players released their anger by spamming negative reviews on the game’s prequels.
