Electronic Sports League (ESL), organizers of upcoming qualifiers for Major, has revealed that the Minors will take place in Katowice between January 16-26, with the Minor playoffs following on January 27.
A month ago, it has been announced that all four Minors for IEM Katowice 2019 Major will be taking place in Katowice, with additional details about the tournament revealed.
The Minor's full schedule:
January 16-20: CIS and Europe Minors
January 22-26: Asia and Americas Minors
January 27: Minor Playoff
It will all start in the 4th week of new year, between January 16-20 of 2019 qualifier (Minor) for teams from Europe and CIS region will be played. Then we will move to the second week, January 22-26, where teams from Asia and Americas will fight for their spot to the main tournament. The CIS and Asia Minors will be the ones starting early on the day, with the Americas and Europe Minors being the late ones. After all the matches are done, the third-placed teams from all four Minors will face off in the Minor Playoffs for the last chance to make it to the Major. The matches will be played on January 27, with the two best teams from that bracket grabbing a spot at the IEM Katowice Major New Challengers Stage.
