Dataminer discovers fourth Valorant map, Ascent ⚡⚡⚡ Esports news, analytics, reviews on WePlay! The latest news on WePlay!

On April 7, Valorant’s closed beta launched with three maps, ten agents, and the promise of more to come by its full launch in Summer. However, not everyone could wait that long for more information regarding the additional map and two new characters.

Reddit user UlfricTheThird is such a person. The Valorant fan datamined the game to find a new map named “Ascent,” which bears similarities to the map Split. Furthermore, he found mention of canals, a boat shop, bait shop, and some textures that carried Italian text. Fans have linked the datamined information to a leaked image from one of the game’s artists that bore the words “Episode 1: Rise of Venice.” That image was promptly deleted, which makes it even more compelling.

With all things seemingly tying the new map to Italy, fan speculation has the new map pegged for the canal filled Italian city, Venice. UlfricTheThird wasn’t able to dig up any information regarding the two additional agents, but that doesn’t mean something won’t turn up before Valorant's launch.

As with all datamined information, take it with a pinch of salt since these could be assets left behind from a canceled build of the game.
