Fans have been looking forward to Capcom Pro Tour Online 2020 Asia East 1 as it hosts many of the best players in Street Fighter V: Champion Edition. More than a few Capcom Pro Tour champions have emerged from the region, which is why the event was so hype. Daigo, in particular, bulldozed his way through the tournament into the Grand Finals, eliminating the likes of Tokido, Verloren, and Shuto along the way.
Facing Fuudo in the Grand Finals, Daigo was forced into a corner numerous times, eventually losing the first game to Fuudo, 3-1. Fuudo would not relent even after securing the bracket reset, bringing the fight to Daigo, and winning the first game. However, Daigo's patience helped him make a great comeback, taking the next three games and earning his place at Capcom Cup 2020 with a well-timed Critical Art.
The next event in the series is Capcom Pro Tour Online 2020 Central America 1, which begins on August 1. Come next weekend we'll see players like Cristopher "Caba" Rodriguez and Saul Leonardo "MenaRD" Mena II fight for their spot at Capcom Cup 2020.
