Speaking to VG247, lead quest designer Paweł Sasko revealed "Lifepaths", one of three character origins that will determine player background and starting location in the game.
“The player in Cyberpunk 2077 can create a custom character that has one of three origin stories, that we call lifepaths: you can be Nomad, Corpo or Street Kid," said Sasko.
So far, only one Lifepath is known to us. It begins in the barren wasteland surrounding Night City, called the Badlands. The Nomads are a group in the game known to live in the Badlands but whether this Lifepath is theirs or not is also unknown.
Cyberpunk 2077 will also feature customisable weapons. In an interview with Gamingbolt, quest director Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz mentioned weapon variety and how customisation would work.
"It’s based, of course, on a specific weapon and how many slots for improvements they have," he said. "So there are melee weapons: katana, hammer, knife, Nanowire — which is basically these wires that you can use to fight. But you can also use them if you’re a Net Runner to hack remotely into people or devices."
Tomaszkiewicz listed heavy guns, light machine guns, revolvers and sniper rifles as some ranged weapons available in the game which can be customised with things like scopes and silencers.
News has also emerged that CD Projekt Red is working on not one but three Cyberpunk-related projects. According to a Bankier report, president of CD Projekt Red, Adam Kiciński stated the company is presently working on 3 projects related to Cyberpunk 2077.
The first is the main game, while the second is Cyberpunk 2077's multiplayer mode. Company CEO Piotr Nielubowicz also added that the third game is their next innovative project which is already in development.
