Torpedo Gaming have announced that former AliGon and Publiclir.se member Simon "downie" Storm has joined their team on a permanent basis.

Simon "downie" Storm had played for Torpedo as a stand-in in the Lower Bracket final of RGN European Open, helping the team to a 2-1 victory over Publiclir.se.

He will step into the shoes of John "Awien" Waltersson, who was released by Torpedo and is now free to sign for another team.

This is the second addition to the team in the space of just one month, after Torpedo announced in November that former SK Gaming star Johan "face" Klasson had been hired to coach the squad.

"I am really excited about joining Torpedo," Storm told HLTV.org. "I have known their players for a long time and am very excited about playing with them in the future. I know Torpedo as an organisation are great to play for."

Torpedo have been drawn into Group B for the ESL Nordic Swedish qualifiers, alongside dreamchasers, pwned and DenDD, with all matches scheduled to be played on Thursday.

With Storm's signing, Torpedo now have:

  • William "tease" Sid
  • Joachim "darti" Fornstedt
  • Simon "atter" Atterstam
  • Samuel "decent" Oldenburg
  • Simon "downie" Storm
  • Johan "face" Klasson (coach)
