First day is behind us. Here is our recap!

North American tournament called cs_summit 3 with world class teams from Europe and USA started yesterday. We saw some ups and downs from the European teams, so let’s have a look:

First match of the day started with the home team compLexity fighting versus OpTic on the map picked by the Danes - de_inferno. OpTic showed great results in the beginning, having a big lead (13-6), but North American team then stole ten rounds without any response and won the first map 16:13. After losing their own map pick, OpTic went back in it as they tied the match at 1-1 after winning de_mirage. Decider on de_nuke had similar process, balanced first half, but the Danes ran away with their lead on the CT side and eventually won the series 2:1

Second match. The American-Canadian battle between NRG and Ghost started on de_train, Ghost’s map pick. NRG was really dominating in the first 11 rounds, with CeRq and co. having a great lead (11:0). But Ghost made it all the way back after a great CT-side and reached overtime. Unfortunately for the Canadian players, NRG dictated the dynamic the whole overtime and won 19:15.

The second map was de_inferno which became another closely-fought battle after NRG came back from a 3-9 deficit to win the map 16-3 and tie up the series 1-1. Again, de_nuke was a deciding map of the series. Really tight result with a good ending for NRG who won 16:14 and are the second winning team in LA.

Third series of the tournament in sunny Los Angeles with Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas with Kinguin taking on Andreas “MODDII” Fridh's Heroic. Heroic easily went past the Poles to secure their map pick de_nuke with the 16-5 score. The second map wasn’t so different to be honest. Heroic booked their place in the upper bracket semifinals after beating Kinguin 16:3 on de_overpass

Last match of the first day was French G2 against German BIG, which started on de_train picked by BIG. G2 managed to pull their wits together from a 11-4 deficit in the second half of de_train, eventually reaching map point before BIG sent the match into overtime. Show ended in double overtime while Owen “smooya” Butterfield and co. finished French superstars with the 22:19 score. Second map de_inferno was more one-sided than de_train. Berlin International Gaming showed their strength on map of their opponents and eventually won it 16:7 and the entire series 2:0.

The show, however, continues today with another four matches on board:
