CR4ZY defeated Heroic 2-1 at today's Grand Final to win the DreamHack Open Rotterdam 2019 trophy. The European team beat AVANGAR 2-1 in the Semifinals to encounter Heroic in the final series.
The match began on Nuke, with Heroic seizing control right at the start. They quickly gained a 0-9 streak on the offensive side of their map pick. CR4ZY gradually began to do better, but it was, unfortunately too little too late. The game ended 3-16 in favour of Heroic.
On the second map Mirage, Heroic proved deadly with the pistols and retook A site. However, they lost a 2v5 advantage which was just the opportunity CR4ZY needed. Georgi "SHiPZ" Grigorov secured four kills in the force buy and 12 kills in the first five rounds. Heroic failed to maintain its composure in the late rounds while CR4ZY continued to take advantage. The game ended 16-5.
The final map was Inferno, with Heroic maintaining its pistol dominance which led to a 5-0 T-side lead. SHiPZ once more came to the rescue, using three different weapons. The teams fell into a little back and forth until CR4ZY broke Heroic’s bank. By half-time, CR4ZY managed to minimise the score difference. In the second half, Heroic once more dominated the pistol round, but CR4ZY took back control once the rifles came in. There was quite a bit of back and forth again, and Johannes "b0RUP" Borup even secured a hat trick, but it wasn’t enough to win them the game as CR4ZY won the next three rounds in a row, and with them, the DreamHack Open Rotterdam trophy.
CR4ZY walked away with $50,000 while Heroic received $20,000 and forZe shared 3rd-4th place with AVANGAR at $10,000 each. In 5th-6th place sit HAVU Gaming and Hard Legion Esports, while 7th-8th went to Beşiktaş Esports and Asterion.
