Could Artifact go f2p?

The Artifact player base has been steadily decaying since it launched last year, and Valve keeps low profile as to what is going to happen to the game “in the long haul.” The company mentioned plans to launch a mobile version and some leaks suggest that there will be a single player campaign.

A leaker at 4Chan who claims to be an insider, posted alleged plans Valve has for Artifact:

I realize this is 4Chan and a post from Anonymous has absolutely no credibility, but nevertheless, it contains everything Valve needs to revive the game.

It only makes sense to switch from the completely failed monetization system to the one which has brought Valve astounding success in the past. Reverse engineering of the Artifact code confirmed that the game will have different skins. Valve News Network posted a video with detailed results of the code analysis.

Players have been very vocal about the current problem of the Item Shop, which has too much RNG. During an interview to WePlay! an MT:A player Swim requested the item shop change, even though he was asked something else.
