Since TI8 a mysterious cloud has been hovering above Team Liquid Dota 2 squad. The team failed to qualify for The Kuala Lumpur Major and skipped ESL Hamburg altogether. They pulled through the lower bracket of DreamLeague 10 qualifier just to forfeit the seed due to “health issues”.

It's clear as day that the team is working out some internal unresolved issues, and rumours are bound to occur in such situation. During Maincast stream Vitalii "V1lat" Volochai, a famous Russian Dota 2 caster, voiced his concern about the team.

Apparently, according to his sources, Team Liquid management was thinking about signing another roster for the new season, since the contracts with the current team have expired. The current players, wanting to resolve their status and sign a contract or be officially released, went on a sort of strike, which led to their current free schedule.

Team Liquid Dota 2 team Manager Mohamed Morad recently went on Twitter to deny that his players don't have contracts with TL.

This kind of response leaves a lot of details unexplained. For example, it's not clear whether V1lats's sources were right about Team Liquid trying to sign another squad (probably, ppd's).

Whatever was going on the team, it's good to know that TL has kept their Dota 2 roster for another DPC season. Hard to imagine TI7 winners playing under a new banner.
