North American esports organization Cloud9 has decided to withdraw from the upcoming DreamHack Open Atlanta event. The organizers shared the information on Twitter but are yet to announce a replacement.
Yesterday's announcement came after Cloud9 returned from BLAST Pro Series Copenhagen, Yassine "Subroza" Taoufik’s debut on the team. Cloud9 finished in the last position after gaining only one point in a draw with Natus Vincere in the round-robin stage. They will most likely spend this time fixing the issues with their roster.
Their absence at the event will leave The Quest as the only North American team currently confirmed to attend. It's unsure which team will take Cloud9’s place, but it will likely be a North American team, especially if DreamHack wishes to avoid any possible visa issues.
The teams confirmed to attend the event are:
CR4ZY
INTZ eSports
Heroic
Illuminar Gaming
Sprout
The Quest
Virtus.pro
DreamHack Open Atlanta will take place from November 15-17 at the Georgia World Congress Center and features a $100,000 prize pool.
