Cloud9 has officially released Oscar "mixwell" Cañellas after being inactive since November 2019, according to a post by the organization via Twitter.

mixwell joined a very new Cloud9 lineup in July 2019 alongside Timothy "autimatic" Ta, Kenneth "koosta" Suen, Damian "daps" Steele, and Tyson "TenZ" Ngo. The team was anticipated to perform at a very high level and bring more championships to the North American organization, but they fell quite short of that. They only had one top three placing on LAN and a 12/2/22 record across their 36 maps. Needless to say, after these poor results, Cloud9 decided to go in a different direction, picking up the entire ATK roster in January 2020.
mixwell has played for some pretty big organizations in CS:GO like G2 and OpTic. Movistar Riders was his most recent organization before joining Cloud9, where he put up some pretty good numbers with a 1.17 HLTV average rating, which is why he was such an ideal prospect to Cloud9.
The 24-year-old Spaniard hasn't stated what he intends to do now, but one can assume he will try to find himself on another roster. His tweet encourages this train of thought by saying, "Thank you for giving me the chance to play in big tournaments again, see you soon on the server!"
Thank you for giving me the chance to play in big tournaments again, see you soon on the server! And thanks to the #C9FAM for supporting me all the way. https://t.co/FlUi3ysh6m
