Cloud9 becomes the first invited team confirmed for DreamHack Open Atlanta 2019. The tournament will take place at Georgia World Congress Center from November 15-17.
They join INTZ eSports and The Quest on the tournament’s roster, with five more invitation spots to fill. INTZ and The Quest both secured their places in the event through the North American Qualifier, where they defeated teams like eUnited, Complexity Gaming and ATK.
Atlanta will be Cloud9’s first DreamHack Open since its Denver 2017 event in which the North American organisation took first place after defeating BIG 2-0. The only player left on the team from that winning roster is Timothy "autimatic" Ta.
Cloud9 will be attending BLAST Pro Series Copenhagen next week, where their trial player, Yassine "Subroza" Taoufik will play his debut match with the team. He recently joined the organisation after Tyson "TenZ" Ngo was benched.
DreamHack Open Atlanta will feature eight teams fighting for the lion’s share of $100,000. The Group Stage will consist of two double elimination brackets with the top two teams from each group moving on to the Playoffs.
