Following their victory over Clutch Gaming in the 2019 LCS Summer Semifinals, Team Liquid will now face Cloud9 at the Finals next Sunday. This also qualifies them and their upcoming opponents for the League of Legends World Championship via circuit points.
Cloud9 entered the Semifinals with the second most circuit points while Team Liquid entered with the highest. If Cloud9 defeats Team Liquid, then it becomes the 1st LCS seed at the World's 2019 and will mark their first domestic title in five years. However, if Team Liquid wins then they become the first team to win four consecutive splits alongside their seed into the World's 2019.
Both Cloud9 and Team Liquid join League of Legends European Championship (LEC) 1st seed, G2 Esports and League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) 1st seed Griffin as qualified teams for the Worlds 2019.
The four teams to compete in the 2019 LCS Regional Finals has also been confirmed, with Team SoloMid taking 1st seed. FlyQuest is 4th seed while the order of 2nd and 3rd seeds will be decided by the outcome of Clutch Gaming and Counter Logic Gaming's upcoming 3rd place match.
