The Clash Royale League 2019 World Finals will take place at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall in Los Angeles on December 7. Mobile game developer Supercell made the announcement yesterday via Twitter.
The event will pit six teams against each other for a $400,000 prize pool and follows the recently concluded $1 million Clash of Clans World Championship. Supercell also has the $250,000 Brawl Stars World Championship scheduled for November 15-17 at Busan, South Korea.
Just like with last year’s inaugural World Finals in Tokyo, Google Play returns as the presenting sponsor. South Korean esports production company OGN will also produce the event as part of their production deal from earlier in July.
“We’ve been working hard since last year’s event to make this an even better experience for the Clash Royale community. We can’t wait to see what the world’s top players have in store for both us and fans as they showcase their talents on one of Los Angeles’ most legendary stages,” said a Supercell spokesperson.
Earlier in October, Chinese multinational investment holding conglomerate Tencent gained majority control of Supercell after acquiring a majority equity voting stake in another company that owns 81.4% of the developer. With Tencent’s resources and its interest in the competitive side of gaming, Clash Royale esports will only get bigger.
