Arc System Works has released the third batch of Guilty Gear -Strive- Starter Guides, which feature fast ninja Chipp Zanuff and powerful revolutionary, Potemkin. Today’s characters have a stark contrast in their playstyles.
Chipp is the fastest character in the game as he uses his ninja moves to open up opponents quickly. His Alpha Blade (forward) is perfect for breaking defenses or escaping, while Beta Blade is an exceptional anti-air that’s also great at reducing pressure. Gamma Blade is another cool move in which he sends out a clone, but be careful as you also receive the damage inflicted on the clone.
Chipp is a very unique character with his teleporting, wall running, and shuriken tossing moves. So make sure you’re familiar with them to ensure better reads.
Potemkin is one of the tallest characters in the series and also packs a punch. His strong command moves in Guilty Gear -Strive- are designed to crumble the opposition in a slow but steady manner.
Take Potemkin Buster, for example, his inescapable grab. Then there’s Heat Knuckle that snatches opponents in the air or forces them down in preparation for a beatdown. Potemkin’s bulk doesn’t represent much of a problem either if you employ moves like Mega Fist and Hammer Fall, which allow him to approach or withdraw while attacking at the same time. The icing on the cake though is F.D.B., which reflects projectiles with the flick of his finger.
The Guilty Gear -Strive- closed beta begins today and will run until April 19. Despite the disruptions caused around the world by COVID-19, the game still has a Summer 2020 release window.
