After Peter "BL1TZ" Athanasatos and Chris "ofnu" Hanley joined AVANT in November 2019, the Chiefs weren't quick to acquire two new players to replace them. Chiefs have yet to participate in any qualifiers or events in 2020. This silence signaled that changes, or a departure from CS, was imminent. Now with the acquisition of ex-Genuine, the core three Chiefs are now free agents; Ryan "zewsy" Palmer, Matthew "Texta" O'Rourke, and Tyler "tucks" Reilly.
ex-Genuine had a deep run in the IEM Katowice 2020 qualifiers, where they fell in grand finals to Renegades.
The first round of the Asia Minor Oceania Open Qualifier will be on February 8, and I suspect the Chiefs will be participating in them.
Chiefs CS:GO roster:
- Chris "Jinxx" Moseley
- Hugh "stat" Anderson
- Jordan "SkulL" Newland
- Daryl "Mayker" May
- Tom "apocdud" Henry
