Chaos Esports Club has parted ways with AWPer, Owen "smooya" Butterfield due to complications created by the coronavirus pandemic.

Earlier in the month, the British player returned to the UK to clear up issues with his Electronic System for Travel Authorisation (ESTA). After a series of delays, his interview with the US embassy was eventually postponed indefinitely due to a country-wide lockdown. smooya's inability to return to the US due to the current health situation has cost him his position on the team.

Logan "Voltage" Long was brought in as a stand-in for smooya when he left, and with current developments, he will now replace the AWPer for the time being. smooya joined the organization on January 10 and helped them qualify for Flashpoint 1.

Here's the current Chaos Esports Club roster following smooya's departure:

  • Joshua "steel" Nissan

  • Hunter "SicK" Mims

  • Anthony "vanity" Malaspina

  • Cameron "cam" Kern

  • Logan "Voltage" Long

  • Matthew "mCe" Elmore (Coach)

Chaos Esports Club lost its recent Group C match against MAD Lions in Flashpoint 1 Phase 2. Their next match will be against FunPlusPhoenix in Lower Bracket Round 1.
