CEPI and GlobalGiving will receive all funds from WeSave! Charity Play

Now, after we’ve learned all the talent crew, schedule and teams, it’s time to speak about the most important thing. As you know, WeSave! is an online nonprofit Dota 2 marathon with $120,000 at stake. Twenty four teams are participating in a seven-day event that starts on March, 20 — with back-to-back TI champions OG, multiple Major winners Team Secret, famous Team Nigma, NAVI, Virtus.pro, and others. And now we are ready to announce the organizations fighting COVID-19. 

WeSave! Charity Play prize pool and all donations collected during the tournament will be equally divided between the CEPI and GlobalGiving funds.

About CEPI

Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) is an innovative partnership between public, private, philanthropic, and civil organizations launched at Davos (Switzerland) to develop vaccines to stop future epidemics. It is supported by the authorities of Norway, Germany, Japan, Canada, Australia, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Wellcome Trust foundation, and other charity organizations. The organization has moved with great urgency and in coordination with WHO as well as other partners to develop vaccines against the coronavirus. CEPI’s aim is to advance COVID-19 vaccine candidates into clinical testing as quickly as possible. 

About GlobalGiving

GlobalGiving is a global crowdfunding community connecting nonprofits, donors, and companies in nearly every country. The organization partners with Hilton, Microsoft, Nike, Facebook, Ford, Cummins, Discovery, Google, and other companies to implement corporate social responsibility and philanthropy programs. The GlobalGiving Coronavirus Relief Fund was created to help and protect those who are the most vulnerable. The fund sends doctors and nurses to where they are needed the most; provides hospitals with masks, ventilators, and other lifesaving medical supplies; and delivers essential items to struggling families.

The Message

We are fighting COVID-19 on two fronts at once. 

The funds provided to GlobalGiving will bring benefits almost instantly, as they will be quickly spent on masks, ventilators, and all the necessary medical supplies for hospitals, as well as other good things.

Funds provided to CEPI will go directly to vaccine development. This will help to finally defeat the coronavirus, but it will take some time for clinical trials.
