CEO tournament organizer Alex Jebailey officially announced on Twitter that this year’s event would be rescheduled from June to December. The change comes as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
The annual event is known to take place during Summer, and this year was no different until COVID-19 began to ravage the globe. In a poll, 92% of respondents said that they would attend CEO 2020 if it were moved to December. CEOtaku, which often takes place in September, could also be rescheduled if the global situation doesn’t change.
Official News on #CEO2020 this Friday. Just working on the paperwork and hotel stuff this week to move it from June to December. 92% voted they would attend if possible later this year. If you booked a room for June you’ll get an email from me before they re open the block.— Alex Jebailey (@Jebailey) April 27, 2020
An official announcement regarding the change will be made on Friday and shall include more details such as registration and refunds for hotel bookings. The specifics and paperwork are still being finalized, which is why Jebailey opted to make an unofficial statement to keep the community abreast of the situation.
CEO 2020 will now take place from December 11-13. However, the status of the pandemic could still affect the current event plans.
