CD Projekt RED intends to switch between new Cyberpunk and Witcher releases keeping both franchises in rotation – this approach somewhat resembles the way Rockstar operates its Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption series. The information comes straight from the developers themselves as reported by @DomsPlaying via Twitter.
This serves as a confirmation that the Witcher series hasn’t been abandoned by any means – we’ll definitely see new adventures in the beloved fantasy world. CDPR’s statement specifically underlines that their video game development process will focus on dual-franchise approach. We can make a fair assumption that after Cyberpunk 2077 releases, the next title from the Polish studio will be Witcher-related. There’s no information in regards to the genres or any other specific details on future games, but what matters is that they are indeed coming. Looks like CDPR is confident with Cyberpunk 2077 judging by the fact that the studio is already planning to produce new entries in a yet to be launched series.
Besides, today we are having a brand new gameplay demonstration of Cyberpunk 2077. The livestream is scheduled to start at 20:00 CEST on Twitch and Mixer. Don’t miss it!
