Capcom Pro Tour Online 2020 registration is live ⚡⚡⚡ Esports news, analytics, reviews on WePlay! The latest news on WePlay!

Capcom has opened the flood gates for Capcom Pro Tour Online 2020, with the first of 18 tournaments scheduled for June 6-8 for the eastern region of North America.

Registration is being done via the FGC’s favorite tournament website, Smash.gg, and is free for all to enter, so long as they meet all the tournament requirements. These rules include using a 3Mbps connection, no wi-fi, and playing in the right region. The registration form also contains questions regarding things like download speed and ping, showing just how seriously Capcom plans to take the online experience of all competitors.

Capcom Pro Tour Online 2020 has representation from 10 regions spread across 18 online regional tournaments. Each region will have two open tournaments except Australia and China, which both get one each. Every one of these online regional tournaments will produce one finalist for Capcom Cup 2020, with the 2019 champion receiving a direct seed and the final spot going to a Capcom Cup 2019 finalist voted in by the community. This makes a total of 20 competitors instead of the usual 32 in previous events.
