Capcom has delighted all its fans saying that at the moment there are several projects in development made with the use of the engine and best practices from the recent Resident Evil 2 Remake. This became known from the financial report of the company for 2018.
The RE Engine, which already showed itself well in Resident Evil 2 and Devil May Cry V, will now become the basis for all of the publisher’s flagship products:
"The games we developed using the RE ENGINE during this current hardware generation have received critical acclaim, and from the early stages of building this engine, we kept the ability to augment it for next-generation development in mind; as such, we view the RE ENGINE as one of our strengths that will contribute to next-generation game creation."
Perhaps we will see the announcement of the next part of Resident Evil or a completely new IP at E3 2019 in June.
