Beyond The Summit held a Dota Auto Chess tournament on March 3. The employees from different esports organisations and studios, including our talented guys from WePlay! Esports, took part in the competition.
Dota 2 ranks first place among online games in Steam. Many people associate online growth with the popularity of Dota Auto Chess. This mode appeared on January 4th, and since its release, 5.33 million people have played it. Almost 280 thousand users play in Auto Chess now. The online peak in Dota 2 was a million players on March 2 - the last time this number was in February 2017.
During BTS Dota Auto Chess Tournament ten teams with four players in each were divided into two groups. The group stage was held in a circular system with bo1-matches. Two best teams from each group went to the playoffs, created by the single-elimination system.
After the fierce battles in the group stage, the semi-finals were formed: Alliance - WePlay! Esports and StarLadder - MoonDuckTV. Unfortunately, the Scandinavian team was stronger and reached the final, where StarLadder defeated them.
