Borderlands: Mask of Mayhem revealed

Gearbox released a teaser trailer for a new Borderlands title dubbed Mask of Mayhem. The short promo features many familiar characters frozen in time and space, which can mean a lot or nothing at all with this game series.

Whichever it is, the developers are inviting us to the Gearbox PAX East panel livestream which is taking place tomorrow (March 28), at 17:00 CET (09:00 PDT).

The fact that the new game isn’t called “Borderlands 3,” may give you a little pause since it hints that Gearbox could have taken the same road as Respawn Entertainment and instead of a story-driven title release a new Battle Royale. That most likely won’t happen as it will be a huge finger to the community and the Gearbox developers know that.
