Borderlands 3: How to use Action Skills and upgrade them

Introduction

Borderlands 3 is one of the coolest games right now, even though it came out around a month ago. The game has many cool new features which were not present in the last game of the series. Apart from the new classes, heroes and game mechanics, Borderlands 3 focuses a lot on the loot because there is a various new type of gear and guns that you can while playing.

Every single character in the game can choose different skills that work in conjunction with his or her guns and grenades. As you can imagine, every single character is different, which means that the most important thing to do first is to choose the right now.  That's it is advisable to check the different skills of Amara, Zane, Moze and Fl4k before making your mind.

It is important to know that each character his unique Action Skill which is used differently.  Let's take a look and see how can you actually use this Action Skill properly and how to upgrade it.

What is the Action Skill?

Every single character in Borderlands 3 is unique in many ways and also has three different skill trees to choose from. Initially, you won't be able to choose from anything, but once you get to level 2, you will finally gain access to them. Even if you have no idea how to use them, don't worry, the game will show you tips on how to use them and how to equip your Action Skill. Speaking of the devil, you will also unlock this when you hit level 2. 

As you can imagine, every sine character has a different Action Skill, which means that they all work differently. That said, equipping the skill works the same way for every single character. To do this, open the menu of your character and then try finding the Skills Menu. Once done, you will see the tree skill trees in different colours because each of them offers a unique playstyle. Depending on what you chose, you will get a different Action Skill. The good thing is that you can always respec if you think that you did not make the right choice initially.

Each Action Skill is very strong, which means that you can only use it when its off cooldown. That said, there are many talents which reduce its cooldown, so it's definitely advisable to learn them at one point.

How to upgrade your Action Skill?

Unfortunately, your Action Skill is not that easy to upgrade, especially in certain situations. In fact, it will probably take some time to do it, but the end effect is definitely worth it because the upgrade will make it a lot more powerful than it was, which improves its effectiveness.

The quickest way of doing this is by getting the Action Skill Augments. However, to do so, you need to have a lot of  Actions Points in order to unlock them first, let along equipping them. In other words, you have to grind a lot before you can take advantage of this thing.

For example, Fl4k has one of the coolest Action Skills in Borderlands 3 because he is able to do crazy amounts of damage. One of his Action Skills is called "Gamma Burst", and it basically adds a bonus effect to his attack. You can enhance this effect even further if you gather the Action Skill Augment called "Atomic Aroma". Keep it in mind that in the case of Fl4k, you can use as much as two augments.

One of the biggest problems right now with the Action Skill Augments is that they only have an effect on the Action Skill from the first skill tree that you've chosen. In other words, you won't be able to "buff" the Action Skills from the other trees, which is a bit sad.

We advise you to try out as much of the actions, skills and classes in order to find what works best for you. Borderlands 3 is a truly awesome game, and you can have tons of fun playing if you find what works best for you. Needless to say, it is definitely advisable to play with a couple of your friends because you can work as a group and help each other until you succeed.
