Borderlands 3 is the newest action role-playing first-person shooter that quickly took over the world after its official release on the 13th of September 2019. In this amazing game, you can either play alone or in a party with up to four people. Once you begin, you need to create a character and choose one of the four available classes. More about them in a second.
There are various missions and other amazing things to do such as defeating the numerous enemies you come across in the game. Whenever you gain level, you also get skill points which you can put in your skill tree. Needless to say, each class has its own skill tree which is unique and offers different perks. In general though, Borderlands 3 shares a lot of similar gameplay features like the previous games - missions, killing enemies, looting, opening chests ad more.
Also, unlike the previous games from the Borderlands franchise where each character had only one unique skill with a cooldown, here, each character can unlock up to three similar skills. Unfortunately, you can only equip one of them at a given time, so choose wisely.
Borderlands 3 Classes - Overview
Borderlands 3 has four new Vault Hunters added to Pandora, as well as four new character classes for you to choose from - Fl4k, Moze, Zane, and Amara. Each of them has something unique to offer such as skills, abilities and an individual progression system. That's why it is very important to have a good overview of what each Vault Hunter has to offer. After all, not every class will be suitable for beginnings because some of them are a lot harder to play in comparison to others.
The good news is that the game developers did a very good job of balancing everything properly. Right now, there are no classes that can be considered to be "overpowered" but this is subject to change once the updates start kicking in. So, if you are trying to figure out which is the most broken one, we are sorry to disappoint you.
Let's take a closer look at each new class and what it has to offer.
Zane - the operative
Often referred to as the assassin, Zane is one of the most interesting classes you can choose from. Apart from doing insane damage, Zane is also very maneuverable, allowing you to do swift and precise strikes. What's more, the new skill tree also seems very impressive, which is another sign that this is going to be the go-to option for most players.
The cool thing is that each skill tree offers something different to the table. You can be the guy who protects your team with various shields, as well as having an insane amount of health regeneration. On the contrary, if you feel like doing damage, you can opt for the damage build which includes a pretty deadly drone. Last, but definitely not least, let's not forget about Double Agent, one of the coolest skill trees you can get right now. It allows Zane to focus on using his Digi Clone which is more than enough to start confusing his enemies while he deals devastating blows.
Fl4k - The Beastmaster
It is hard to explain what is actually Fl4k to a person who never played Borderlands. To make a long story short, let's call it a big robot that has the capabilities of summoning and commanding different mechanical beings during battle. That said, this definitely makes Fl4k very unique and interesting to play in comparison to the other Vault Hunters in Borderlands 3.
Every single "being" that you summon will attack your enemies while simultaneously providing different types of bonuses to Fl4k. For example, the Skag can actually vomit acid on your enemies, which deals a lot of damage and is pretty cool to watch actually. The Spiderant is also pretty neat because it charges at your enemies and does significant damage.
By choosing Fl4k, you have to decide between the following skill trees - Stalker, Hunter, and Master. The Stalker allows you to go invisible and catch your enemies off guard, while the Master is mainly related to your pets. Lastly, the Hunter allows you to focus more on bombing your enemies and it has a pretty strong action skill which allows you to increase your critical damage.
Amara - The Siren
Unlike Lilith and Maya, Amara is essentially the new Siren which you can play in Borderlands 3. Her skill tree is entirely focused on doing insane damage and allow you to strike your enemies in different ways, making it very interesting. You can choose from the following Skill Trees:
Brawl - this is mainly connected to Melee damage attacks using Amara's Action skill - Phaseslam. It is by far one of the coolest effects of any skill in the game right now.
First of the Elements - as the name suggests, this is related to the Elemental Damage
Mystical Assault - here, Amara focuses mainly on using her Astral Projection which attacks her enemies.
Moze - The Gunner
If you are into close combat and using explosives that doe tons of AoE damage, this definitely has to be on your bucket list. Moze uses various mechanical combat move and has the helo of Iron Bear, he trusted companion.
The Iron Bear has two different weapons all the time, which allows Moze to have two Acton Skills equipped at the same time, making her the only one who can do this in Borderlands 3 right now. You can choose between the following skill trees:
- Bottomless Mogs, which increases the Gun Damage
- Shield of Retribution, which improves her shields
- Demolition Woman, which is mainly related to increasing the Grenade Damage, making it perfect for AoE action.
