Last weekend brought a conclusion to ESL One: Road to Rio - South America after Brazilian esports organization, BOOM Esports defeated Isurus, 2:0.

The Group Stage was a quick affair consisting of only four teams, BOOM Esports, RED Canids, Isurus, and Imperial e-Sports. The future champions topped the group standings after winning all their matches, while Isurus followed with just a single loss to BOOM Esports.

Only the top three teams advanced to the Playoffs, where Isurus faced Imperial e-Sports and BOOM Esports moved directly to the Grand Final. The Semifinal match saw Imperial e-Sports taking the first map, Dust II, before losing the next two.

Isurus proceeded to the Grand Final and their rematch against BOOM Esports. The first map was Nuke, and Isurus didn’t stand a chance, losing with a 10 point margin. With two maps left to go, Isurus went into Mirage fighting even harder than before and were rewarded with a third round. Sadly, Isurus weren’t able to snag the map, cutting the Grand Final short at just two maps.

BOOM Esports took home $6,000 and 1600 Regional Masters Ranking points. Isurus received $3,000 and 1500 RMR, while Imperial e-Sports got the remaining $1,000 and 1400 RMR. Red Canids didn’t go home empty-handed as they won 1300 RMR.

The remaining matches for the other ESL One: Road to Rio regions will take place early next month.
