Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (yep) has signed a sponsorship agreement with Cloud9, as the team's official Twitter says.
This kind of deal is some like a debut in BMW's esports-partnership history. Previously, BMW had only once acted as a partner of an esports event — a League of Legends tournament back in 2017 — and had no interaction with specific organizations in this market.
And of course, we've got a photo shoot as pompous as possible: 6 employees and players of Cloud9 took part, including CEO Jack Etienne, and Zachary "Sneaky" Scuderi with one of his sensational cosplays are posing in front of the BMW car. The organization has already shot a series of thematic commercials.
Cloud9 is a true American business-machine. We can recall Red Bull, OMEN from HP, HyperX, USAF, Secretlab and Twitch among their other partners — these are huge names. In the middle of this week, it also became known about the imminent launch of a joint series about the life of the team — together with the telecommunications company AT&T.
