Blizzard has announced a new Archive event for Overwatch ⚡⚡⚡ Esports and gaming news, analytics, reviews on WePlay! The latest news on WePlay!

The roster of Overwatch’s heroes has recently been updated with the latest addition in the form of the French battle medic Baptiste. And while you might be thinking that the flow of new content took a break, the truth has proven to be completely different. Let’s start from the beginning.

A few days ago, an all-new teasing blog post appeared on the official website of the game where you could find a newspaper page directly from the Overwatch universe. It is, of course, a fictional example of mass media, which is only present within the game, but it gave us a little information on what to expect next from the game in terms of new content. The article told the story of a Havana rum distillery called Don Rumbotico. The owners of the facility refused to sell their property, which led to a suspicious chain of events resulting in an arson. While the story was pretty entertaining on its own, it might’ve suggested that we’d see a new map set in Havana – or at least a new themed event dedicated to saving the rum. Why the rum?! (in Jack Sparrow’s desperate voice)

Both of these speculations are indeed true. The yearly Archives event is back in Overwatch for another round, which is starting on April 16. The heroes will have to find out the truth behind the sad story of the rum distillery, and a new themed map is awaiting players. Talon is most definitely involved.
