For the European Spring Showdown, MAD Lions, fnatic, and mousesports have received direct invites to the event. These invites to mouseesports and fnatic come as a bit of a surprise because these teams were left off the list of partnered teams for 2020, causing an uproar in the community. Nevertheless, we will see them fighting in the Showdown for a spot in the EU Spring Finals.
The American Spring Showdown sees five teams invited — Cloud9, Chaos, FURIA, Gen.G, and Triumph — for a grand total of eight teams in the event. The American event was originally scheduled to have ten teams but has been reduced by BLAST.
Here is a complete list of the teams competing in the EU and NA Spring Showdown events:
Europe:
- Astralis
- NiP

North America:

The EU and NA Spring Showdown events will begin on June 1 and feature a best-of-one group stage where only the last team will be eliminated, leaving the others to advance to a playoff stage.
