BLAST Rising invites annoucned

All 16 teams invited to the BLAST Rising event with a $32,300 prize pool have been announced. BLAST Rising is not an event that is a part of the BLAST Premier Spring Series, like the BLAST Showdown event, as it features teams that are not above #20 in the HLTV rankings.

BLAST Rising will be an online event hosted for up-and-coming teams, the highest-rated teams being HAVU at #22, Heretics at #30, and Movistar Riders at #32 in the HLTV rankings. HAVU recently placed third in FLASHPOINT 1, while Heretics and Movistar Riders are currently participating in ESL One: Road to Rio.

Here is the full 16 team list that will be taking part in the BLAST Rising event:

These 16 teams will be placed into four groups during a group draw on April 30. BLAST Rising is set to take place from May 4 - 22 and will be live-streamed on the official BLASTtv Twitch channel. The event will have the four double round-robin groups compete with only the two teams from each group advancing. Then, those two teams will move onto a best-of-three, single-elimination playoff bracket.
