BLAST Pro Series has announced Bahrain to be the location for its Global Final. The tournament will take place from December 13-14 and features a $500,000 prize pool.

According to BLAST Pro Series, the Global Final is set to be "the biggest esports event ever held in the region." The tournament organiser has partnered with the Bahrain Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs to ensure a grand event.

Using a point based system that was introduced this year, the top four teams from the circuit will compete using a single-elimination, best-of-three format.

BLAST Pro Series Moscow begins today to end tomorrow, but Copenhagen will be the last opportunity for teams to rack up points. BLAST Pro Series Copenhagen is scheduled for November 1-2.

BLAST Pro Series CEO, Robbie Douek said in a statement: "Bahrain is the perfect place to hold the 2019 Global Final. There is already a strong and engaged base of fans, an emerging scene of talented young players, and a country famed for its welcoming hospitality.

"Gaming and esports are one of the most popular activities for young people across the world. It is highly-skilled, engaging and interactive. People connect across continents, they create friendships, work together, learn new skills, solve puzzles, focus on teamwork and have a lot of fun. We are looking forward to welcoming fans and their families to the event in Bahrain,” he added.

The present BLAST Pro Series leaderboard currently looks like this:

  1. Team Liquid - 26 points

  2. Astralis - 22 points

  3. FaZe Clan - 20 points

  4. Ninjas in Pyjamas - 10 points
